Dalat - City of Eternal Spring - is a smaller city in the south central highlands of Vietnam, 250km from Ho Chi Minh City. Although tourism is growing steadily in Vietnam, Dalat is still relatively undiscovered compared to other Vietnamese cities, but has been a popular honeymoon destination for Vietnamese couples for decades.

Dalat lies about 1,500m above sea level and has a pleasant cool climate all-year round, which is ideal for agriculture. In addition to countless flower farms, coffee plantations are part of the scenery around Dalat. Since the end of the 19th century the French used Dalat as their summer holiday residence. The French influence on the architecture and a small replica of the Eiffel Tower in the city centre has made Dalat known as Le petit Paris.

Rooms/Accommodation
The Ana Mandara Villas Dalat Resort & Spa is one of the most exclusive addresses in town and a location with an air of quaint charm. The villas of the resort were built by French settlers between 1920 and 1930. Before the villas became a hotel residence, families of French military officers spent their summer vacations here. After the French colonial period, Vietnamese government officials moved in. In 2006 the villas were leased out by the government to a property developer that specialises in the restoration of traditional buildings and who has made the villas available as holiday accommodations.

The villas are scattered across a 7ha park on a hilltop above Dalat, protected by numerous large pine trees. The very quiet resort offers expansive views of the surrounding urban and farming countryside, away from the bustle of the city. 65 rooms are spread between 17 colonial villas. The villas vary in design and décor and reflect the unique personalities of their original owners.

Ana Mandara means Beautiful Home for the Guests. There are 3 to 5 guest rooms in each villa. All residents of a villa share a lounge area (some with open fireplace), dining room, kitchen with pantry and an outdoor terrace with seating area.

Antiquity meets modernity in the Ana Mandara Villas. All rooms offer king/twin sized bed, bath/shower, flat screen TV, writing desk, CD/DVD-player, internet access, safe, hairdryer, coffee/tea making facilities, heating and turn-down service in the evening. In addition, an open fireplace is installed in some of the rooms. A personal butler is assigned to each villa or guest room.

The 19 Villa Rooms are fitted with a traditional bath and/or shower. The 19 Villa Studios have an open fireplace. Most of the Villa Studios have a private terrace. The 24 Villa Suites feature more spacious rooms with open fireplace, separate lounge and/or terrace. The Bellevue Suite is situated nearby the spa and restaurant and offers a huge balcony with a 270° view of the surroundings. The 2 Spa Villa Suites have a unique glasshouse covered terrace, treatment room, steam bath and private lounge. Guests of La Villa have an entire villa for themselves with barbecue facilities outside.

The restaurant Le petit Dalat offers delicious Vietnamese and international cuisine, prepared with fresh ingredients from the resort's own organic garden. The air-conditioned "wine cellar" in the attic of the restaurant is designated for wine tastings and private dinners. Each villa has a fully equipped kitchen. On request, meals can be prepared on site and thereafter served in the villa or on the private balcony. Snacks and cocktails are available in the bar adjacent to the swimming pool, the only heated outdoor pool in Dalat.

Activities
The luxurious La Cochinchine Spa is located in Villa 14. The spa offers 5 treatment rooms, foot massage area, sauna, steam bath, indoor and outdoor showers and a number of therapeutic treatments. Sauna, steam bath, fitness centre and mountain bikes are available free of charge. An 18-hole golf course is located 5km from the resort.
