This resort with its 30 luxurious villas is situated amongst paradisaical
nature in the southwest of Mahé at Anse Louis. It opened its door for
the first guests in August 2006.
Rooms/Accommodation:
The resort and gardens have been designed by architect Bill Bensley
and impress by a mixture of Far Eastern influences combined with
lovely details in traditional Creole style. Set in the mountain chain
along the bay of Anse Louis, each of the private villas has a fantastic
view over the Indian Ocean. There are 8 villas located directly on the beach,
3 on the green hillside and 11 panorama villas in a more elevated position.
Another 8 Maia Signature Villas, one with private
beach access, offer extra luxury and privacy.
Each villa has a living space of about 250qm² including an outside
pavilion with a large daybed. The bedroom is equipped with a flat screen TV,
IPod station, DVD Player, surround sound system, safe, minibar,
ceiling fan and air condition. The bathroom has a glassed indoor
shower, hairdryer and access to an open-air bathtub. A private bar and
cooking area provide all villas the possibility of en-suite dining,
prepared by their own 24 hours butler service. The infinity-edge
pool offers an undisturbed view onto the Indian Ocean. The hotel
facility also includes the Sunset Bar, lounge and swimming pool.
Activities:
The Maia Spa by La Prairie is located in isolated garden pavilions
surrounded by tropical nature. The Spa offers a variety of luxurious
treatments, such as the well-known Jari Menari (dancing fingers)
massage. Especially nice for honeymooners: a partner treatment with
a light dinner in a private Spa pavilion.
In the meditation pavilion internationally trained yoga professionals
teach Qi Gong and Self Shiatsu.
Beside this, the resort also offers active watersport, such as kayaking,
snorkelling, canoying and pedalos. Motorised watersport as well as
custom-made excursions to other islands by boat or
helicopter
can be organised by the Maia team.
Entertainment:
The gourmet restaurant is specialised in Mediterranean-Asian and
Creole cuisine. Romantic candle-light dinners on the beach can be
arranged.
