Soneva Gili by Six Senses


The luxurious resort Soneva Gili (a 15minute speedboat ride away from the international airport) is located on the island Lankanfushi, which is about 450 meters long and 150 meters wide. The sister resort of Soneva Fushi was opened in 2001 and is the perfect "Robinson Crusoe Island" for lovers and for people looking for tranquility. Explore your private oasis above the water. Only reception, restaurant, dry cleaners, library, babysitting service, souvenir shop, jeweler's shop and some day rooms are directly on the island. The spa, the bar and all of the residential buildings are on stilts in of the largest lagoons of the Maldives.

Rooms/Accommodation
The resort features 45 Villas, which are all very spacious and furnished detailed. The furnishing is mainly made of natural materials. Each villa includes a terrace, a big lounge with a seating area and couches, an open air bathroom featuring bath/shower/toilet, roof terrace with daybed, telephone, air conditioning & fan, minibar, safe, TV with video, coffee making facilities, WLAN free of charge and CD/DVD-Player.

At the excellent restaurant with front cooking you enjoy daily changing gourmet menues, vegetarian dishes, elements of wellness cooking and the beach barbeque which takes place twice a week. This together ensures culinary change. The islang has its own garden in which fruits, vegetable and herbs are grown that are used for cooking. Private beach picnics as well as in villa dining are organized with pleasure, if you would like to enjoy your meals in a private atmosphere. The bar, which is build on stilts in the lagoon, offers a big choice of international cocktails and other drinks. At the swimming pool snacks and drinks are served as well.

Activities
Included in the Six Senses Spa are sauna, steam bath and jacuzzi. Massages as well as Ayurveda treatments are offered at an extra charge. Other activities at no charge include snorkelling, fitness centre, yoga, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, beach volleyball, tennis court with flood light and table tennis. At an extra fee are water skiing, wakeboarding and diving.

The diving station Ocean Paradise Dive Center (PADI/CMAS) is lead by the German Lars Helten. The numerous attractive dive spot of the North Malé Atoll are not more than 40 minutes away of the resort. The reefes around Soneva Gili offer everything; from macro places, which are suitable very well for under water photographers, to the big fish dive spots and drop offs. There is the opportunity to go on accompanied night dives.
